Really, he looks like a phantom. A light shade of purple is what colors his whole body and makes up his pelt. A white streak goes down his spine, around the thickness of a cat's tail. Around his rib cage area are lines coming from the same streak that go around his back, making him seem like a skeleton from a distance. Sometimes, he jokes that he is half see-through. His build is small, ideal for crawling into small spaces and for acting invisible. Perhaps the reason he is so light-weighted is because he has quite an abundance of feathers around him. Most of his tail is fluffed with soft, white down, and around the ankles of his four feet have sprouted feathers of the same color as his tail. Phantompaw has glowy, silvery colored eyes.

Personality:

Phantompaw is often rude and loud. He idolizes Redwing's older brother, Cardinalfeather. Oh, he doesn't like to get in trouble, but when you act like he does, it's hard not to! He also has some sort of respect for Redwing--she is his mentor, after all--but would rather be a warrior. (see history) Thus, he treats patients with a bit more force than needed. The tom is also very clumsy when it comes to herbs, once giving the leader deathberries instead of juniper.
He is also very open, never afraid to give his opinion. He openly voices his dislike for things. Despite that, he manages to maintain friendships within a clan--perhaps distant ones, but friendships all the same.

History:

When he was about 1 star old, he accidentally tumbled into a badger while out "exploring". He was rushed to the medicine cat's den with various gashes and a large slice on his stomach. 6 stars passed before he was well enough to start his training. At about the same time, the previous medicine cat apprentice died.
Phantompaw didn't want to be a medicine cat apprentice from the start. In fact, he still doesn't. He was forced to be one due to his time spent in there and because of a white feather found in front of the den. ("Really, it was just a pigeon, nothing more!" he would complain whenever anyone brought it up.)
