The Cat's Codes are the laws that were set down by the Clan's founders to keep order within the Clans. This is much like the Warrior Code to the original four Clans, although this code has much stricter laws and some not seen in the Warrior Code, so be sure to read through ALL of them.
Hunting Rules -Prey is killed only to be eaten, not for sport. -A cat cannot tresspass onto another Clan's territory to hunt. Cats who chose to do so must catch prey on their own territory and give it to that Clan to make up for the prey they stole. -The remains of prey must be buried as a sign of respect and to thank StardustClan for putting the prey in the forest. -A kit may not hunt. -Cats should only catch as much prey as they and their Clan need, never anything more. -A cat must hunt for their Clan before hunting for themselves. -The Sunfish are sacred fish and must be preserved. A cat may not hunt Sunfish.
Battle Rules -A cat cannot attack or harm kits during battle, even if those kits are in the enemy Clan. -A cat must follow their Clan leader's orders during a battle. A cat may not disobey. -A cat cannot attack a cat from their own Clan. -Kits cannot fight in battle. -A cat may not kill another cat unless their life or the safety of the Clan depends on it. -A cat must defend their Clan even at the cost of their own life. -A cat must help a fellow Clan-mate in battle if their Clan-mate is badly wounded or out-numbered.
Territory Rules -Territory borders must be patrolled and marked daily. -A cat must challenge and chase off any tresspassing cats. -A cat cannot cross into enemy territory without the permission of their Clan leader. -Any disputes over territory boundaries must be discussed by all four Clan leaders. -Threats to the Clan, such as foxes and badgers, must be chased out of the territory. These threats must be chased out of all four territories, not into the territory of another Clan. -A cat must protect and defend their territory with tooth and claw.
Ceremony Rules -Kits must be 6 moons of age to become an apprentice. -Apprentices cannot become warriors until they have visited the Stardust Stone and have been to two or more Gatherings. -If the deputy is to die, the new one must be chosen before Starhigh. -A cat must be a warrior 45 moons of age or older to become the deputy, and must have trained three or more apprentices. -Deputies who have become leader due to the death of the old leader must travel to the Stardust Stone the Starhigh of that day. -A cat cannot be deputy if they are nursing or expecting kits.
Rank Rules -Female deputies and leaders may not have kits. Medicine cats of either gender cannot have kits or a mate. -An apprentice must obey their mentor and the warriors. -All cats must respect the medicine cats, leaders, deputies, and elders no matter what Clan they belong to. -A cat cannot take a mate from another Clan, no matter what their rank is. -Kits may not participate in Gatherings and Clan meetings. -An apprentice may only attend a Gathering if their mentor has allowed them to. -A cat can only become a medicine cat aprentice if the medicine cat has recieved a sign from StardustClan that they are the right cat.
Gathering Rules -Gatherings must be held on the day of the full moon from Sunset to Starset. There shall be no fighting at this time. -Leaders, deputies, and medicine cats must attend all Gatherings. -Medicine cats must meet at the Stardust Stone on the half moon to recieve guidance from StardustClan.
